STARTING STRENGTH TRAINING IN MY 50S

STRENGTH / MY EXPERIENCE

A new chapter does not need a perfect starting point.

At 51, Margaret’s fitness story is still developing. Strength training, a personal transformation, qualifying as a trainer and preparing for a bodybuilding competition have each added a new chapter.

Her before-and-after photos capture a visible change. Her own posts also tell a story about enjoying training, feeling proud of her progress and choosing a challenge for herself.

A reason of your own

In her 51st birthday post, Margaret answered a question people had asked her: why train so hard? Her answer was personal. She was doing it for herself.

“I love where I’m at and I’ve never been more proud of myself.”

That is a useful starting point for any fitness conversation: what would you like training to add to your life? The answer can be different for each person.

Progress has a history

Margaret’s Instagram records coached sessions, milestones and the process behind her transformation. The images are snapshots from that process, rather than a promise of what someone else will achieve.

Now that she has qualified as a personal trainer, she is beginning to explore how she can support other people with their own starting points and goals.

Beginning the conversation

If her story resonates with you, share your goals, experience and questions with her. You do not need to have the same ambition or follow the same journey to begin a conversation about training.

Start your own conversation.
